Official statements, theological positions, and guidance issued by the AZIIE Council.
The Council issues decrees on matters of theological significance, community guidance, and official positions on contemporary questions facing the global Zoroastrian community.
All decrees are rooted in the Gathas and sacred tradition, deliberated by the Council, and binding upon organizations holding AZIIE recognition.
The AZIIE Council stands in unwavering solidarity with our Zoroastrian brothers and sisters in Iran—the ancestral homeland of our faith.
For millennia, Zoroastrians in Iran have preserved the sacred flame despite immense challenges. They are the direct inheritors of a tradition that shaped civilization itself, from the ethical teachings of Zarathustra to the just governance of Cyrus the Great.
"The fire that burns in the temples of Iran has never been extinguished. Neither persecution nor time has dimmed the light of Ahura Mazda in the hearts of the faithful."
AZIIE calls upon all Zoroastrians worldwide to remember their Iranian brethren in prayer, to support efforts that preserve Zoroastrian heritage in Iran, and to advocate for the rights and dignity of this ancient community.
The bond between Zoroastrians across all lands is unbreakable. We are one fire, one truth, one community.
As Zoroastrians engage with modern technology, questions arise about the appropriate use of digital platforms for worship, education, and community connection.
The Council affirms that technology is a tool—neither inherently good nor evil. Its value depends entirely on how it is used and whether it serves the principles of Asha.
Digital platforms may appropriately be used to:
• Connect Zoroastrians who lack access to physical Fire Temples
• Disseminate authentic teachings and scholarship
• Preserve and archive sacred texts, prayers, and traditions
• Foster community among dispersed populations
Digital platforms must not:
• Replace physical attendance at sacred ceremonies where possible
• Dilute or distort traditional practices for convenience
• Spread unauthorized interpretations of sacred texts
• Commercialize spiritual practices
AZIIE-operated platforms (eFireTemple, AshaVibe, AshaAI, Magus University) adhere to these principles and serve as models for appropriate digital engagement.
Zarathustra's revelation was given for all humanity. The principles of Good Thoughts, Good Words, and Good Deeds are not limited by birth, ethnicity, or geography.
The Council affirms:
1. The teachings of Zarathustra are universal truths. Asha—truth and righteousness—applies to all creation. The choice between good and evil is presented to every human soul.
2. Zoroastrianism welcomes sincere seekers. Those who genuinely embrace the path of Asha and commit to the Zoroastrian way of life may be welcomed into the community through proper instruction and initiation.
3. Heritage and tradition are sacred. While the message is universal, the traditions, rituals, and practices developed over millennia must be preserved and transmitted with integrity. New members must be educated in the full depth of Zoroastrian tradition.
4. Quality over quantity. The Council does not endorse aggressive proselytization. Those who come to Zoroastrianism should do so through genuine spiritual seeking, not marketing.
Individual Fire Temples and regional associations may establish their own procedures for welcoming new members, provided these procedures ensure proper education and sincere commitment.
The Council continues to deliberate on matters affecting the global Zoroastrian community. Additional decrees will be published as they are issued.
